Hi, I'm John Esker Founder and Principal of DixieLee Insurance Solutions. DixieLee Insurance Solutions was born from a deeply personal experience — one that forever shaped how I view healthcare coverage and the importance of informed choice. When my mother, Dixie Lee Esker, was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, our family quickly learned how complex and unforgiving the healthcare system can be. Despite our best efforts to support her, we found ourselves facing insurance limitations, denials, and confusion at a time when clarity and compassion were needed most. Even harder than the financial strain was realizing we didn’t have the decision-making power we thought we had. The coverage we trusted to protect her restricted her options, and critical healthcare choices were suddenly out of our hands. Watching her fight with such strength and grace while navigating those barriers changed my life — and revealed how vital the right guidance and coverage truly are. That experience became the foundation of DixieLee Insurance Solutions. Our mission is simple: to make sure no family ever feels powerless or uninformed when it comes to their healthcare. We’re here to help you understand your options, choose coverage that protects your future, and feel confident that your care will never be limited by fine print or confusion. Everyday, our work honors my mother's memory — her resilience, her kindness, and her belief that people deserve to be cared for with honesty and respect.
After more than three decades in the electrical maintenance industry as a sales and customer service manager, I realized my next chapter needed to be about helping others in a more personal way. In 2022 I recieved my license from the State of Ohio, for Health, Life, and Accident Insurance working as an Independent broker. Then in July of 2025, founded DixieLee Insurance Solutions. This career change allowed me to turn our family’s difficult experience into something positive: a promise to guide seniors through Medicare with compassion, clarity, and integrity. Every client I meet reminds me of mom — someone who simply wanted to make the best choices possible but didn’t have the information or control to do so. My goal is to make sure you do.
